Marlon Reid

Marlon Reid has worked at TD Securities for over 8 years in progressive roles. His focus has involved negotiation and deal execution of TD’s energy origination transactions in addition to various other over-the-counter derivative and capital market transactions. He has provided legal support to the Asset Securitization Group, Structured Product Group (Asia-Pacific) and the Commercial Paper desk. Marlon has been a very active member of UFSC, particularly as a former co-chair of the Professional Development committee and as a Nelson Mandela mentor. Most recently, Marlon's focus has turned to the creating and development of a UFSC branded financial literacy program for young adults.
Marlon holds an undergraduate business degree from York University, a law degree from the University of Ottawa, and is a Master of Finance candidate at the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management. Marlon currently serves as a Co-chair of the Black Community Subcommittee of TD Bank's Diversity Leadership Council and was recently appointed to the AGO Next Committee of the Art Gallery of Ontario.

Davina Reid

Davina Reid is a Project Manager with Porsche Financial Services Canada, the financial services arm of the car company Porsche Canada Cars Limited. For the past nine plus years Davina has worked in the area of automotive financial services in many different capacities, primarily in the area of sales and marketing. Davina has a Bachelor of Administrative Studies degree from York University.
Davina was the UFSC VP Internal Affairs Board Secretary in 2004 and over the past four years has either been a member, chair or co-chair of the UFSC Professional Development Committee. In 2006 and 2007 Davina received the UFSC Chapter's Member of the Year Award. In 2006 and 2007 Davina received the UFSC Chapter's Member of the Year Award and in 2008 she was recognized by the Chapter as an Outstanding Member for her many contributions made to the organization that year. Since 2007 Davina has been on the Board of the National Junior Golf Academy, currently as the Executive Secretary.

Karen Richards

Karen Richards is currently Senior Manager, Operations & Distribution Support with TD Insurance. For the past ten years, Karen has worked for TD Bank Financial Group in a variety of roles in business technology, product management, project management and direct marketing. Prior to joining TDBFG, Karen worked in building material sales, mall marketing and as the Promotions Director for a Rock format radio station. Karen has a Bachelor of Arts, Sociology from the University of Western Ontario and a Business Administration – Marketing diploma from Fanshawe College.
Karen joined UFSC in Spring 2008 and is a non-executive board member, and sits on the Membership Committee. Karen is also a board member and Treasurer of Theatre Archipelago, a non-profit organization that showcases Caribbean focused performances.

Alicia Mair

Alicia joined BMO Capital Markets in February 2008 as an associate in Corporate Banking where she covers diversified industries. Her role encompasses transaction and credit analysis and client support. Prior to joining BMO Capital Markets, Alicia worked as an analyst in Corporate Banking with a US based bank in their Toronto office.
Alicia holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Western Ontario and is a CFA Charterholder. Alicia has been a member of UFSC since 2003 and has held several board positions including Secretary and VP, Internal. In 2004 she received the Toronto Chapter’s Member of the Year Award.

Darryl Brown

Darryl Brown has worked for Dominion Bond Rating Securities (DBRS) as a Senior Financial Analyst for the past three years and currently covers the Canadian energy sector. His role primarily involves the analysis of corporate credit risk through implementation and development of financial models, managing client relationships, market surveillance, and dissemination of research reports to the financial markets. Prior to this role, he was employed with Allstate Insurance (Canada) working in their finance and planning group and was a teaching assistant at McMaster University where he completed an honours degree in Commerce. Darryl holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation and has been a member of UFSC since January 2009.

Larry Henry

Larry Henry is a lawyer called to the Ontario Bar in 2001. His practice has seen him involved in a number of areas within the financial services industry. Larry first practised at McCarthy Tétrault LLP within the firm’s Corporate Group. Larry’s practice focused on Banking and Financial Services. Larry’s career took him to Robert Half Legal, a recruiting firm where he worked closely with a number of companies including a number of banks. As such, he has a keen understanding of what hiring managers within the financial services industry are seeking. Finally, Larry has recently moved to the law firm of Gilbertson Davis Emerson LLP, where he practises Insurance Law.

Lindsay Jamieson

Lindsay Jamieson is currently an Analyst in Treasury Credit at TD Securities. Prior to this he was on contract with TD Securities as a Business Analyst testing derivative pricing software. He is currently the Corresponding Secretary for UFSC Toronto. He has completed a Masters of Arts in Financial Engineering and Mathematics in a joint program with the Schulich School of Business and York University. Prior to beginning the Masters Degree, he completed his Bachelor of Science in Mathematical Finance at the University of Calgary. Before engaging in finance, he worked in engineering. While in attendance there Lindsay held various board positions on the Society of Calgary Undergraduate Mathematics. Throughout university, Lindsay has been involved with student clubs and organizations.

Gavin Douglas

Gavin Douglas is a Vice President with Marsh Canada Limited and has worked in the Financial Institutions Industry Practice since joining the company in 2003.
Gavin currently works on a variety of the Financial Institution and Professional Service based accounts in both a broking and client management role. Gavin is responsible for the servicing of various small, midsize, large and international clients including Chartered Banks, Life Companies, Pension Plans, Mutual Fund companies and Professional firms. He is regularly involved in the negotiation and placement of those coverages that are unique to the financial and professional services industry practice.
"There are several organizations in existence that serve our community. Few have a mandate specifically for minorities within the Financial Services community. Even fewer have a mandate that is as fulsome as the UFSC and for this I am thankful to be a part of the organization. It is my mandate to use my 15+ years of experience in the Financial Services industry coupled with my many years of local community involvement to contribute to this organization as I continue to learn from being a part of the UFSC."
Gavin was the 2008 UFSC Toronto President and currently sits on the UFSC Board as President Emeritus and is also a Co-chair of the Financial Literacy Committee.

Del Miller

Del Miller is an Engineer with TELUS where he is a design consultant for the corporate sales team. He has been personally involved in bringing in over $30 million in revenue to TELUS. Before TELUS, Del was a Software Engineer for Motorola in Schaumberg IL (a suburb of Chicago), during this time he was the lead engineer on a project valued at US$7.5 million. Del's design and consulting experience with some of Canada's most prominent companies such as Barrick Gold, BDO Dunwoody, Biovail and First Canadian Title has given him a breath of knowledge and the competence to communicate complicated technological solutions in a language understandable by executives.
Del has a B.Sc. Computer Engineering degree from the University of Ottawa and over 11 years technology and sales experience. Besides his professional work, Del is an active member of the community where he is the volunteer coordinator of the Saturday Morning Tutoring Program at the Jamaican Canadian Association. Each Saturday morning he oversees 20 students (grades one to twelve) and over eight volunteers.

Angela Tindyebwa

Angela Tindyebwa has over six years experience in the Financial Services Industry in various positions such as Financial Services Manager, Associate-Corporate Finance Cash Management and Associate-Structured Finance. She holds an MBA from York University, Schulich School of Business and a BBA from Simon Fraser University in B.C. During her MBA, Angela acted as a Strategic Consultant for a loyalty systems provider delivering strategic and operational action plans to allow the firm to the executive team. She also worked at the Laurier Institution, a non-profit organization in Vancouver which works with community leaders to advance and disseminate knowledge about the economic and social implications of diversity.
Angela has been an active member of UFSC since 2008 and a participant in the UFSC mentorship program. She is also involved with the National Black MBA program assisting with the design and development of the Leaders of Tomorrow Program for high school students as well as the NBMBA fundraising initiative for children with disabilities.

Brian M. Whittaker

Brian M. Whittaker is a personal finance professional working in the heart of Bay Streets' financial district at TD Canada Trust. With a passion for investment recommendations and retirement strategy, Brian has been with TD for the past 6 years. Prior to his role in financial advice, Brian was a Manager in a retail branch responsible for the administration side of the business.
Brian has earned a bachelor degree Spec. Economics for Management Studies and Political Science, and has acquired several industry certifications. Brian is currently enrolled in the Chartered Financial Analyst program level 1 exam in June 2010.
Aside from his professional endeavours, Brian has been a UFSC volunteer for the Professional Development and Community Outreach committees. During University he actively participated in Student Groups and held leadership roles with various clubs involved in community service and mentorship.
