In addition to the goals of the national organization, the Toronto chapter is committed to inspiring youth in the African Canadian community to understand and view financial services as a profession worthy of their consideration.

An Inaugural Reception for the Toronto chapter was held on Friday, September 26, 1997. The President of the Urban Financial Services Coalition William G. Smith made the keynote address. Over 100 professionals from the banking and financial services fields attended the event. The first meeting of the newly formed chapter was subsequently held on October 23rd 1997.
