CANCELLED - July 2011 General Meeting, Thursday, July 28, 2011: INVESTING IN EMERGING ECONOMIES

The UFSC Toronto Board has been advised of the sudden passing of a close family member of our July General Meeting guest speaker Rodney Davis, CEO of the Cool Group of Companies.
 
Out of respect for the Davis family and Rodney’s ongoing connection to UFSC, we have cancelled our General Meeting on Thursday, July 28.

UFSC Toronto wishes Rodney and his family strength in this difficult time.

Mr. Rodney Davis, CA is the Chief Executive Officer of the Cool Group of Companies, a large Jamaican conglomerate largely focused in the retail Gas business, but with operations in a number of key domestic and tourism sectors in Jamaica and other Caribbean islands.  Before joining the Cool Group, Mr. Davis was the President and CEO of Cable and Wireless Jamaica where he drove major change and innovation in the large telecoms conglomerate resulting in explosive growth in internet and fixed line penetration across Jamaica as well as a turnaround in the company's mobile business following the onset of fierce competition.
 
He is also an entrepreneur and co-founder and Chairman of Nappy's Inc. a leading Health and Beauty services company operating in Jamaica and Canada.
 
Mr. Davis is a chartered accountant in Ontario, Canada (ICAO, CICA 1992) and Jamaica (2005) and he is an accomplished Canadian and Caribbean executive, having served in a number of financial and general management executive positions including some of Canada's and the Caribbean's largest public companies since 1994.
