Sporting Life 10K Run for Camp Oochigeas
UFSC would like to invite its members to take part in the SportingLife 10K, a running event to raise money and awareness for Camp Oochigeas.
Camp Oochigeas is a privately funded, volunteer based organization that provides kids with cancer and kids affected by childhood cancer with a unique opportunity for growth through challenging, fun, enriching and magical experiences.
Camp Oochigeas has grown to offer more childhood experiences to kids with cancer:
- Summer Residential Camp
- Weekends at Camp throughout the fall and winter
- In-hospital Programming 7 days a week at the Hospital for Sick Children
- Day Camp for children ages 4-6
- In-city Outings
- Teen Leadership Programs
Whether you are a pro or an amateur runner, come and join other 30,000 people who will be running down car-free Yonge Street. People from across the country, and visitors from as far as England and California have partaken in this run.
Interested UFSC participants will be contacted by other members doing the run to coordinate meeting at the start line to pace and encourage one another. You'll be part of a fun event!

Details of the SportingLife 10K
Date: Sunday May 1st
Start: Yonge & Castlefield, close to the Sporting Life store (Near Eglinton East Subway)
Finish: Fort York(CN Tower)
Entry is $55 or free if you raise $250 in donations (see website). If you register, you have to pick up your kit at the Sporting Life store (2665 Yonge) prior to the race.
